We have direct access to the top legal databases, specialized software and online resources to perform sophisticated yet quick investigations and technical research. We also use state-of-the-art equipment to conduct highly effective presentations at trials. All of our cases are also computerized in order to expedite our litigation and case handling functions.
Our home and hospital consultations.
We understand the difficulties that many of our clients face due to their injuries. It is often difficult to travel to see an attorney due to their serious medical conditions. When you call us for legal representation, we will offer to visit you personally at your convenience at our office, your home, hospital or any other appropriate location. We will ensure that your case will not be affected by any delays in representation.
Select your attorney carefully.
Choosing the right attorney to represent you and your family is one of the most important decisions you can make after a tragic event. You should select an attorney that specializes in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Don't hesitate to ask the attorney about the number of cases that he/she has handled as lead counsel and the results. Personal injury and wrongful death litigation is a very specialized area of the law. You owe it to yourself and your family to find an attorney with a proven track record and trial skills to help you through this difficult process
We can handle cases throughout the United States.
Randall J. Shanks is licensed to practice law in the courts of Iowa, Nebraska and the Supreme Court of the United States. If, however, you live in a state where we are not licensed, we associate with competent local counsel and work closely with them on your case. Since we associate with local counsel we are able to appear and practice in states where we are not licensed.
How do you decide what cases to take?
We will discuss your case with you at no charge. If we believe we can assist you, we will take your case. If we cannot help you, we can refer you to other attorneys.
What are your charges?
The Shanks Law Firm takes cases on a contingency fee basis. This means that if there is no monetary recovery, you owe us nothing for our services. In most cases, the Shanks Law Firm will advance the litigation expenses necessary to prepare and take your case to trial. These expenses can be paid back by you when there is a recovery. We will provide you with a detailed settlement breakdown which provides an explanation of the fees and expenses. You will have this information before you finalize any decisions regarding the settlement of your case.
How much is my case worth?
Everyone's case is different. The Shanks Law Firm will evaluate your individual case based upon the specific facts and circumstances of your situation. The Shanks Law Firm has been evaluating cases and representing people for over two decades.
Who from your law firm will work on my case?
The Shanks Law Firm takes a team approach to the handling of cases. Investigators, medical consultants, and paralegals play an important role in the handling of your case. Often times, you will work directly with the paralegal assigned to handle your case as it is being processed. When it is appropriate, you will also consult with an attorney. All of these people play a vital role in preparing your case for settlement and/or trial.
Will you speak with me before settling my case?
